It's a done deal that almost 90% of the Jamaican population consume bun and cheese during Easter. The preferred cheese will be cheddar, the New Zealand processed version found in a tin and described by acting general manager of Dairy Industries Simon Roberts as "the best cheese between two slices of Jamaican bun".

No idle boast when he reveals (that in Jamaica) "a kilo of cheese is eaten per man, woman and child" and that his company produces "some 2,300 tonnes of cheese for the Easter season alone."
